Chris Brown’s album cover seems to be causing some controversy. I’m loving the futuristic direction Chris has decided to go with for this album. The album cover shown above debuted yesterday and apparently some people have a problem with Chris’s choice of attire for the cover. I thought the outfit was sexy. Now I’m sure if you asked me how I felt about men in “leggings” (the pants don’t really look like leggings to me) before I saw this I probably wouldn’t approve but Chris definitely pulled the look off. Everyone isn’t Chris Brown though so I hope I don’t start seeing other guys trying to pull this look off.

Chris expressed his frustration on twitter a short time ago by saying:

“WHO CARES IF MY PANTS R FITTED. its called fashion. IM SO TIRED OF CLOSED MINDED PEOPLE. IM 100% COMFORTABLE WIT MY SEXUALITY. IM A GROWN MAN. MY FASHION ISNT LIMITED TO BAGGY AZZ JEANS AND FITTED CAPS.. i did that in 05. CMON son. HATING IS SO LAME..”

HERE ARE SOME VIDEO STILLS FROM CHRIS BROWN’S VIDEO SHOOT FOR “CRAWL”

Have A Baby By Me

2 11 2009

20091017_MG_8131copy

50 Cent debuted the official music video for his latest song “Baby By Me” featuring Ne-Yo. I have to say Ne-Yo really brightened up this track and took it to another level. I’m no longer really a fan of 50 Cent anymore but this wasn’t bad at all. Nice little concept behind the video which stars Kelly Rowland. Lovely.

chrisbrown-superhuman

Chris Brown released his music video for his first single,

“I Can Transform Ya”

this morning on MTV Jams. I’m really feeling the video. Those who thought Chris wouldn’t be able to make a comeback may have been wrong.

I think he’s coming back better than before.

Chris Brown will be performing at Boston’s House of Blues on December 6th with New Boyz.

Tickets are on sale now…

Stay In the LoOp

I find it so disappointing that so many Americans have no clue as to what is going on with our government. To do enlighten those of you who don’t follow US politics I’ve decided to post informational blog posts that will elaborate on major political topics as they present themselves. President Obama’s Health Care Reform is a very important issue right now yet I rarely find anyone who knows anything about the Presidents plan & where our country stands as far as it is concerned.

Below is a four-minute video that summarizes President Obama’s Health Care plan…

Last Tuesday the Senate Finance Committee passed an 829 billion dollar health care bill by a 14-9 vote. This vote was extremely important because it was the fifth & final committee that needed to vote this legislation out. This win takes the Health Care Reform to the next level.

Something many people don’t know about this bill that was passed last week is that it is very different from the four other bills before congress. This bill is a more conservative bill that is seen in the Senate as having the best chance of passing the Senate because it doesn’t include the “public option” that the President discusses in the video above. The “public option” is a government run insurance plan.

Here is what the Senate Finance Committee bill does include:

–       HEALTH CARE COOPERATIVES
Non-profit health care co-op’s instead of the “public option”

–       INDIVIDUAL MANDATE
Requiring Americans to get health care insurance or pay a penalty
(but there isn’t a similar mandate for employers to pay for coverage for employees)

–       829 BILLION DOLLAR PRICE TAG
Less than any of the other bills that have been presented

**KEEP IN MIND…

The “public option” may still end up in the final bill. The committees have been molding this bill with another Senate bill that is more liberal & includes the “public option”.

A finalized bill will hopefully to get to the Senate floor the week of October 26th (next week). Hopefully it also reaches the House of Representatives floor by the end of October. Even after it has reached both the House & Senate, those two will have to be merged & that is the bill that both the House & Senate will have to vote on & send to President Obama.

WHAT’S [IN] SEASON…

9 10 2009

jourdan-dunn-topshop-02

Although sometimes style trends are developed by celebrities, fashion trends derive from the runway. Designer collections typically have similar styles & these designs are the ones that stand out. When the top designers come out with their line for the next season other designers build off that look for that upcoming season. Stylists & buyers then get those looks on & off the racks at shops around the world. That’s when these trends hit the streets.

The fashion shows exhibit designs well in advance thus we can call the process of predicting which styles will become trends is forecasting for the next season.

WHAT WAS FORECASTED FOR THIS SEASON??

  • THE STRONG SHOULDER

Marc Jacob’s Fall 2009 collection for Louis Vuitton inspired all if not most of the trends we are seeing in stores & on the red carpet this season. Louis Vuitton is always a big fashion trendsetter…

For those of you who have Jay-Z’s Blue Print 3 I’m sure your familiar with the track “A Star Is Born”. The track is definitely one of my favorites. Produced by non other than the love of my life, Kanye West (LOL) the track features a new artist, J. Cole. Like myself, I’m sure you all have been wondering, who the hell is J. Cole?? He’s actually the first artist signed directly to Roc Nation. He has a mix tape released called The Warm Up & he’s an extremely talented lyricist & producer. I have no doubt that with the help of Jay-Z he will definitely blow up.

LISTEN TO HIS SONG “LIGHTS OFF” FROM HIS MIX TAPE BELOW…

I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! DEEP SHIT.

A lot of people have been comparing J. Cole to Drake… Personally I’ve listened to the mix tape & I think J. Cole may be a hell of a lot more talented when it comes to both making music & writing lyrics. Although I love Drake & his music, I think J. Cole presents a really positive message in his profound delivery. He isn’t the cutest guy but something about him is attractive. He’s definitely moving up on my list.

    Follow J. Cole on Twitter : www.twitter.com/JColeNC

    Jimmy Choo at H&M???

    1 10 2009

    Jimmy Choo for H&M

    JiMMY CHOO FOR H&M

You heard right, Jimmy Choo for H&M!!!

For those of you who’ve always wanted a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes but can’t even grasp the idea of spending $400 to $1,000 on an average pair of Jimmy Choo’s your dreams have finally come true! Jimmy Choo has partnered up with H&M to launch a collection of shoes, accessories & even some clothing for both men & women. H&M has collaborated with Madonna, Stella McCarthy, Roberto Cavalli and many more top designers but this will be the first collaboration with an accessories brand. The collaboration will feature shoes starting at only $60!!!! That is practically FREE in comparison to the upscale line’s retail price. Do you understand how big this is????

HERE IS THE FIRST ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE LINE:

    jimmy_choo_ad_main

We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too. Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection – the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night! -Tamara Mellon, Founder and President, Jimmy Choo.

We adore Jimmy Choo’s shoes and bags. They are glamorous and sexy, and they add instant style to the simplest of outfits. I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around. This collaboration is particularly exciting because it’s our first shoe designer collection. It’s a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers. -Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor, H&M.

The Jimmy Choo for H&M line is set to unveil on NOVEMBER 14th 2009 in approximately 200 H&M locations around the world! If your thinking this is just going to be another “whatever” line of shoes you are DEAD WRONG! This line was definitely not half-assed. The Jimmy Choo designers without doubt stayed true to the reputation the Jimmy Choo name holds. I am very impressed with this line. The quality & designs for the collection are far from cheap or tacky.

The Jimmy Choo name carries so much prestige that you only expect the best from anything with the “Jimmy Choo” label. Although the brand was introduced in 1996, in the short period Jimmy Choo’s success is now world renowned. Some look down on the brand because it is going to be launching this inexpensive & accessible collection, but I think it is great that they are targeting the younger & broker customer. Someday I hope to be able to purchase Jimmy Choo shoes (check out their new collection at www.jimmychoo.com) but for now “Jimmy Choo for H&M” will do the trick ;-).
